Responsible Gaming

This page sets out practical advice for gambling responsibly and states plainly what this site can and cannot do for a reader who wants to stop or take a break. It applies to every page on this build, including the operator listings.

What should a reader decide before placing a bet?

Decide the amount you are willing to spend before you start, not while you are playing. A figure fixed in advance is a decision made with a clear head; a figure decided mid-session is usually a reaction to what just happened, and that is a worse basis for judgment.

Treat that amount as already spent the moment you commit to it. If you think of it as money you might get back, every loss feels like a reason to continue and every win feels like a reason to keep going, which is how sessions run longer than planned.

Never chase a loss. A loss is information that this session has gone against you, not a debt the next bet is obliged to repay; the next outcome does not know what happened before it.

Keep gambling out of borrowed money and out of money earmarked for something else. Spending only what you can afford to lose is what keeps a loss contained to the amount you already accepted, rather than spreading into other parts of your life.

Take breaks during a session rather than playing in one continuous stretch. Stepping away gives you a chance to notice how much time or money has actually gone, which is harder to judge while still playing.

Involve someone else as soon as gambling stops feeling like entertainment. Raising it early, with a person you trust or with one of the organisations linked below, is easier than raising it after the situation has grown.

Where do account controls and age checks actually apply?

This site has no account, no form and no server-side application behind it. Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion are settings inside an operator account, so nothing published on this page can switch one on, check its status or enforce it. A reader who wants any of those controls sets them up at the destination after following an operator link, where that operator's account, rules and checks apply.

Nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it; any age check happens at the destination, not here. The eighteen-and-over restriction stated on the front page and repeated at the end of every operator listing is a condition of using the destinations this site links to, not something this page enforces. Each of the ten operator listings also ends with a line asking the reader to check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, since eligibility rules and terms belong to that destination and can change without notice. No advertising or behavioural profiling network runs on these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour.

Every page on this site, including this one, links to three independent sources of help: gambleaware.nsw.gov.au, gamblinghelponline.org.au and responsiblegambling.vic.gov.au. These are the only non-commercial outbound links anywhere on the site: unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows them.
